GHOST MACHINE REVEALS VR F16 SIMULATION TITLE FINAL BURN

Ghost Machine is a developer that is directly pushing virtual reality (VR) content. The developer’s Motorsport VR can already be downloaded and played on PC with the Oculus Rift VR headset and the team has just announced its newest project to support the technology. That project is Final Burn, an ‘immersive combat flight simulation’ experience that sees players pilot F16 aircraft. The first gameplay from the title can be seen below.

Final Burn tasks players with fending off an alien invasion, having been inspired by 90’s films based on the same concept. The video shows players controlling an aircraft across an expansive open air arena, firing homing missles to take down other targets. The title is being created at the developer’s studio in Austin, Texas as part of an Austin VR initative that will also see it release other VR titles.

“It’s exciting to be part of a new revolution in game design. Austin has always had a spirit of collaboration among indie game developers and the unexplored nature of VR lends itself well to that sort of collaboration,” said Ghost Machine CEO Neal Nellands of the iniative, which also sees the launch of a new Austin VR game jam this month.

Final Burn is hoping to release on PC in Spring 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development, bringing you all the latest.
